Health2Health Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of HealthSystems Group Limited, is launching a new service aimed at helping small companies that have an exciting clinical product or service to commercialise and grow. The service is called the Medical/Business Alliance and, as its name implies, it seeks to bring together clinical product expertise, investment and healthcare business know-how in one "package".
Lots of clever clinical people invent something, get it to work,
sell some and then get stuck. The clinical inventor is often
unwilling to give up being a consultant (wisely) and the business
limps along or dies. The role of the Medical/Business Alliance
is to bring their business to life and let it grow. How?
The Medical/Business Alliance (MBA) works as follows:
- Through our existing networks and the various healthcare award schemes in which we participate Health2Health find possible companies who could benefit from MBA.
- Typically potential MBA companies will have a product that meets a clinical need, some clients and £150,000 per year or more in revenue (a classic SME).
- Health2Health meet with the company and understand whether or not they wish to grow, what resources and skills it takes to make that happen and whether or not we can provide those resources. A proceed or stop decision is taken at this stage and, if the decision is to proceed, an agreement between the client and Health2Health is made.
- Upon agreeing to proceed, Health2Health review (or if it does not exist then help to write) the business plan covering the company, the product, the people, the market served, competition, financial data and so forth.
- Together with the client, Health2Health take the plan to investment groups with whom we have established working relationships to seek the necessary investment. The go/no go decision is taken at this stage. For investment information, click here.
- If the decision is to go then Health2Health supply the reources that were agreed during the business planning phase and we work together to make the venture a success.
Health2Health can provide a wide range of resources, normally on a part time basis. The resources we can supply include:
- change management experts
- the use of our supplier helpdesk
- sales and/or marketing directors
- accounting and administrative services
Very few clients will need all of the above but many use 3 or 4
Who gets what out of the Medical/Business Alliance? The client gets investment, the use of experienced resources and the opportunity to see their business prosper. The investor gets a well thought out business plan and the confidence that the people involved know what it takes to make the company succeed. Health2Health get an opportunity to deliver resources on an ongoing basis knowing that the client can afford them!
A few guidelines may help potential clients evaluate whether or not MBA is worth exploring:
- Health2Health charge no fee for the initial consultation.
- We will not be interested unless the company needs both capital and resources. We take no part of the equity.
- Any work done prior to an investment being made will normally be done on a contingency basis, no investment - no fee.
- No guarantee can be given that the investors will approve the plan or agree to a mutually acceptable valuation but Health2Health share that risk.

Health2Health Limited and its sister company, HealthSystems Consultants Limited, have been helping healthcare providers and eHealth suppliers in the UK and elsewhere for almost 20 years. We have a very strong team of consultants and associates all of whom have spent many years in healthcare and have an in-depth understanding of what it takes to succeed.
Health2Health have, for many years, been supplying similar services both to companies from abroad wanting to start up in the UK and to companies already in the UK wanting to strengthen their healthcare business. We have a lot of experience upon which to draw.
