Charles is an experienced senior change manager, team leader and builder, with wide experience of client-facing service delivery and business performance management in both the public and private sectors. His early career was as a scientist and manager in the defence science and technology sector, rising to senior management positions, becoming a Director in the newly created QinetiQ organisation following the privatization of the Defence Research & Evaluation Agency. Recently he has undertaken a wide variety of consultancy appointments, including Gateway™ reviews in the public sector, consultancy for the European Commission and a number of training, lecturing and facilitation assignments. He has wide knowledge of project management in major procurement projects, inter-agency and international programmes and in research, development and commercialisation. Politically aware, he is client focused and quick to identify issues that might prejudice outcomes. He is a successful trouble-shooter of complex problems, being broadly skilled in science, engineering and IT.
