Edwin Kerr is a highly experienced consultant with a proven record
of senior management in the public service. For many years
he had frequent contact with central government in the fields of
Education,
Employment, Health, and Trade and Industry dealing with Secretaries
of State, Ministers and Senior Civil Servants. From
1987 until the demise of the NHSTD he was a Special Advisor to
the Director of NHSTA and NHSTD on a range of projects embracing
Health Pickup, MESOL and obtained Credit Ratings for a variety
of materials from the Open University.
Being the architect of the Institute of Health and Care Development
(IHCD), one of its Directors and the Chairman of its Vocational
and Academic Board, IHCD was accredited by the Open University
Validation Services (OUVS). IHCD was so successful in NVQs relevant
to the
NHS that it became the subject of a takeover bid by EDEXCEL.
Edwin has played a leading role in the development of the Professional
Awards in IM&T (Health) since their inception, and is currently
the Chairman of the Health Qualifications Management Board
(HIQMB)
which reports to the NHSIA.
Edwin was the founding Academic Director of Regents Business
School, which is an accredited institution of OUVS, and obtained
validation
of
its first suite of honours degrees.
