Ian Mackintosh is a highly experienced ICT
Director, Senior Programme Manager and Consultant with a proven record of
managing large and complex ICT organisations, procurements and change
management programmes.
Awarded a Ph.D. in Medical Physics at St
Bartholomew's Hospital London,
his early career was in medical instrumentation and computing. He established the Medical Physics and
Computing Department at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol providing clinical
physics services, and was instrumental in a number of IT initiatives
in collaboration
with NHS Information Management Group, University of the West of
England,
Cardiff
University
,
Bristol
University
and Hewlett Packard. He was
an Acute Hospital Unit General Manager for 18 months and was responsible
for the opening of major hospital redevelopment. Appointed Director
of Information
at Avon Health Authority, he established the Avon IM&T Consortium.
He then became Chief Information Officer for
Avon
,
Gloucestershire and Wiltshire Strategic Health Authority to support
the introduction of the NHS Plan and the National Programme for
IT.
He has a total of 32 years working in the NHS in
technical, scientific, senior general management and IM&T positions. Ian joined HealthSystems Consultants Limited
in late 2004 as a Senior Consultant.
