Mike Manson joined
HealthSystems Consultants in 2008 after a full career in the Army,
leaving as a Colonel. His experience is extremely varied, from
command of units to strategic planning and management. For his
final 9 years he was firstly programme manager of the Army’s
management information system and then director of development
for the successful £100M Defence Medical Information Capability
Programme. In this latter role he oversaw the requirements capture
and development of the information system while also leading the
business change programme, with particular responsibilities for
communications, change seminars and interfaces with the NHS. DMICP
provides controlled, worldwide access to military medical and dental
records and knowledge for the Defence Medical Services. He also
wrote an information strategy for the DMS and developed a change
programme to improve their knowledge and information management.
Earlier in his career he had several roles as a long-term planner
for both equipment and organisations, as a lecturer at the Royal
Military College of Science and as a focus for the military application
of emerging technologies.
