We use PRINCE 2 not only to manage the work that we do for clients,
but also in project and programme management work that we do for
clients.
PRINCE 2 has 6 discrete stages and assumes the presence of a project
board (with a finite life) to whom the project manager reports.
Typically the stages we manage are:
- set up the project management structure
- start up the project (kick-off meeting)
- initiate the project, document the plan, set the milestones
or stage boundaries, define the deliverables
- manage against the stage boundaries and sign off completion
of each stage point
- manage, review and QA the deliverables
- close the project and produce the final report.
