Professor Ricky Richardson, a consultant paediatrician, formed
Richardson Consulting UK Limited in 1996 as a strategic healthcare
informatics and eHealth consultancy. He merged the company
with HealthSystems Consultants Limited in mid 2002. Professor
Richardson is Chairman of the UK eHealth Association. In June
2003, he was elected Vice President of the International Society
for Telemedicine and eHealth. A previous Board member of the
European Health Telematics Association (an EU funded body),
he chaired the eHealth Working Group from 1999 to 2003. He
is a visiting Professor of eHealth at Imperial College in London.
Professor Richardson is an acknowledged international expert
on eHealth and brings to the subject both years of experience
as a practising paediatrician and an exciting vision as to
how eHealth can change the traditional delivery of healthcare
for the better. His thinking on how that change can be better
for the patient, better for the clinician and better for whoever
is paying is challenging and far thinking.
