William started his business career with IBM working with IBM UK and then IBM Europe in a series of sales, marketing and product management roles prior to becoming industry manager for public utilities in IBM Europe based in Paris. Moving to ITT in Brussels he helped to form and then lead ITT Datacommunications Europe which, by the time he left in 1980, was a $500 million business in 14 countries. In 1981 he moved to the USA as President of TDS Corporation (now Eclipsys) a market leader in clinical information systems. On his return to the UK he founded HealthSystems Consultants. William has many years of experience at top management level in health informatics both in the UK and USA. As president of TDS and as a director or chairman of other leading health IT system suppliers, he has developed a comprehensive understanding of the clinical information process and the IT systems available to support it. Qualifying originally as an accountant, William also appreciates the business imperatives and brings a clear focus to issues of costs, budgets and expense control. Working with many stakeholders on a project, he has strong interpersonal skills and is comfortable dealing with all levels within the NHS and the private sector across both clinical and management dynamics. He is a skilled procurement executive having lead major procurements in healthcare as both a buyer and a seller. He served as a director of both public and private companies in the UK and the USA and is a very experienced healthcare software executive. William also is a regional treasurer of the Institute of Healthcare Management.
